조현진은 사진, 영상, 퍼포먼스, 여러 아티스트와의 협업 등 매체의 경계를 허물어가며 ‘마음’이라는 개인의 심연에 파고드는 작업을 합니다. 자연과 일상에서 우연히 마주한 순간을 통해 마음을 들여다보고, 보편화된 서정성을 새롭게 탐구합니다. 이를 통해서 심상의 순간에 나타나는 내면의 중얼거림을 다양한 매체로 표현합니다. 실제 풍경을 그대로 재현하기보다 색채와 형태, 빛과 시선을 변형해 당시의 감각을 기록함으로써, 내면을 어떻게 바라보고 감각할 수 있는지에 대한 물음을 던집니다.
Cho Hyun Jin works across photography, video, performance, and collaborations with other artists, moving fluidly between mediums to explore the depths of the inner self—the realm of the mind.
Through unexpected encounters with nature and everyday life, Cho turns inward, seeking new ways to explore a shared sense of lyricism. These moments of inner imagery give rise to quiet murmurs, which unfold across various forms and mediums.
Rather than reproducing landscapes as they appear, Cho transforms color, form, light, and perspective to preserve the sensations of a particular moment. Through this process, the work asks how we might see, perceive, and encounter our inner landscapes.
